I am a consultant ENT surgeon with a specialist interest in head, neck and thyroid surgery. I graduated from University College London having also completed BSc in neuroscience.
Originally from Wiltshire I returned closer to home to complete my postgraduate ENT training in the South West. To further my head and neck experience I have also trained at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. As well the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia.
I took a Consultant post at the Royal United Hospital in 2013 with a particular interest in both benign and malignant conditions of the head, neck and thyroid. I am an active member of the Bath/Bristol Head and Neck MDT and the RUH Endocrine MDT. I am currently lead for head and neck cancer at the RUH as well as contributing to national research trials and audits.
In my spare time I am a father of three, a keen gardener and ultradistance athlete. I have competed internationally and currently hold the Great British records for the triple, quintuple and deca distance continuous Ironman events. Through these events I have also raised considerable amounts for local and national cancer charities.
I am privileged to have a job I love and I aim to provide and expert opinion, and to ensure that patient feel listened to, and included through all aspects of their care.
